What is the Transfer Fund?

What is the Transfer Fund? The idea behind The Transfer Fund was exactly that - a Fund.
The money generated is meant to boost any transfer budget that the manager may have for signing players during transfer windows. It gives all Dons fans the chance to help raise money by making online payments that will be donated to the club. We aim to raise as much money as possible to give Aberdeen every chance of competing in the market.

What’s Different About this Idea?

What’s Different About this Idea? The Fund is unlike any other initiatives that are available, in that it is aimed at the short term. Any monies raised can be donated to the club and made available to the manager to spend how he and the club see fit. The Transfer Fund will only be used towards transfers and possibly wages of new signings or to keep the best players at the club.

The club is currently going through a turbulent time but is making good progress in turning the corner and paying off the debt. This has obviously had an impact on what players we could sign and what money we could make available for players to attract them to the club. The Transfer Fund will help towards plugging the shortfall of money that would normally be available had the club not been battling debt.

What Are The Limitations?

What Are The Limitations? It is not workable for anyone to dictate to the club that the money raised is spent on a particular player or a particular player’s wages. The main thing is that any money generated will directly boost AFC’s chances of getting in the right players. This could help in situations where we may lose out on a player when a fee is involved.
